Refunds and cancellations
PrintMesh holds your payment until you have the part. This page says exactly when money comes back, how much, and how long it takes.
Before a printer accepts
Nothing has been charged. Cancel the job and there is nothing to refund — no fee, no deduction.
After a printer accepts, before you pay
Still nothing charged. You have 15 minutes to pay before the job goes back out to other printers automatically. Walking away costs nothing.
After you pay, before printing starts
Your money is held by PrintMesh, not passed to the printer. If you cancel at this point 30% comes back to you and 70% settles the printer for the filament and the machine slot they set aside.
Once printing has started
The same 30/70 split applies, and the printer is told to stop. Material already used cannot be recovered, which is what the 70% covers.
Once the print is finished
A completed print cannot be cancelled. If something is wrong with it, raise a dispute from the order page instead — that freezes the payment where it is until a person has looked at it.
Disputes
Either side can raise one once money is held. The job stops and nothing is released while it is open. A dispute is settled one of three ways:
- Refunded in full — the print was not acceptable.
- Released to the printer — the print was as ordered.
- Split — partly wrong, and the money is divided proportionally.
Photographs in the order's message thread are what decide it. Messages on PrintMesh are the record; anything agreed elsewhere is not.
If you say nothing
When a printer marks a job handed over, you have 72 hours to confirm you have it or raise a dispute. After that the payment is released automatically. This exists so a printer is not left waiting indefinitely on a reply, and the countdown is shown on the order the whole time.
How long a refund takes
Refunds go back to the card, UPI id or account you paid from, through Razorpay. We queue it immediately; banks typically take 5–7 working days to show it. You can follow the status on the order page.
Payments to printers
Printers are paid by UPI once the customer confirms, or 72 hours after handover. A payout cannot be sent without a UPI id on file, which is why one is required before accepting work.
